Floyd County deliberates behind closed doors

The Rome News-Tribune has reported on what the newspaper has called a violation of the Georgia Open Meetings Act by the Floyd County Commission.

The News-Tribune reported the commission discussed the ratification of a county contract behind closed doors, adding, “The law states that “meetings (can) be closed for the discussion of the acquisition or disposal of real estate, and to discuss settlements of lawsuits or claims against an agency.”
